Officially promoted as the "Island of the Gods," Bali combines nature, cultural heritage and local life, with Denpasar as the island's capital and hub of modern living.
Bali is a weaker fit if you need guaranteed solitude. Its headline beaches and cultural centres are the ones the national tourism board itself names, and they are named because they are popular. If quiet is a priority, compare the actual property location rather than relying on an island-wide label.
The core decision: which base, not which hotel
